In these weekly classes, I share what deeply inspires and moves me in my current practice. Poetic anatomy*! Perceptual experiments! Collective modes of attention!

You can expect guided free movement, contemporary dance technique, and performance exercises.
We’ll begin by exploring the organs of the Central Nervous System: the brain and the spinal cord.

We explore questions like:
How can my somatic* awareness of these organs support my movement — improvised and within specific forms? Where can it offer more ease? What qualities does this focus bring into my movement?

Where and when? (map, parking, etc)

I ’m a beginner — can I join?

I’m an advanced/professional dancer — can I join?

I wanna come but I’m kinda terrified but also kinda want to but I am NOT a good dancer, not in a million years, and I kinda worry everyone will be so much better and I will look ridiculous and awkward as fuck and  .... [.....].

Do I need to bring anything?

Can I have a 1:1 class with you?

I worry I’ll get tired and won’t have the energy to keep up

*What does “somatic” mean?
